Langston hughes responce

Langston Hughes Response

“I, Too.” By Langston Hughes is about a slave who’s saying that he too, will have freedom someday. He’s saying, that he’s going to stand up. Not necessarily him, but the negro race.

“I, Too.” Is a fairly, free verse poem. When Langston writes, “Nobody’ll dare say to me, ‘Eat in the kitchen.’” Is when it made it clear what he was writing about then. When he says, “Besides, they’ll see how beautiful I am and be ashamed,” was really powerful because when he says that he too, is America. It makes you think about how much they wanted, and with enough willpower, their wishes finally came true.
