Camping Trip Haiku

A cool summer breeze,
when the leaves start to turn.
It was time for change.

The perfect campfire,
Cool wind whistles through the trees.
Memories of fall...

The tall redwoods,
the sound of rushing water.
The leaves scattered across the trail.

The science of gravity
pushes down on my pack.
Lets take a break.
Forever.

Guess Who?

I run through a dry, grassy plain all day.
All you see for miles is just grass and occasionally a tree.
I watch for lions as there is a chance I might get eaten.
Lions like to maul me as well as tigers
Because I'm super tasty to them.
I look like a horse.
But I am not.
I sound like a horse.
But I am not.
I have stripes.
I examine the ground for food.
I stalk my prey.
But the grass is no match
For my ultra sharp teeth.
I hear a noise.
A growling.
And a quick whip of the lions tail.
His mouth is open.
I have no time
To run away in terror.
You've just witnessed an act of nature.
I once was a zebra,
But now, I'm just another lions snack.
